Dr. Dallam is a professor in the Department of Exercise Science, Health Promotion and Recreation at Colorado State University – Pueblo, as well as being the personal coach of several elite U.S. triathletes. Most notable among these is Hunter Kemper, a three time Olympian ( 2000, 2004, 2008), a six time U.S. National Pro Champion, a Pan American Games silver (1999) and gold (2003) medalist, and the top ranked Olympic Distance triathlete in the world in 2005. Dr. Dallam’s dissertation work, Effect of the Pose Method of Running Technique Training on Vertical Oscillation and Running Economy, was funded by a United States Olympic Committee Sports Science and Technology Grant and is the seminal research on the Pose Method. He has been involved in numerous other studies and publications examining various aspects of triathlon, including the application of a high low model using supplemental oxygen. He is both the founder and a long term member of the USA Triathlon National Coaching Commission. Dr. Dallam has received both the United States Olympic Committee’s Doc Counsilman Science in Coaching award (2004) and the National Elite Coach of the Year award (2005) for triathlon. He also has received CSU-Pueblo’s university-wide award for teaching (2001), scholarship (2003) and service (2005), and is the first faculty member in the history of the institution to do so. Finally, Dr. Dallam has been actively competing in triathlon since 1981.

Well-respected Colorado high school cross country and track coach. TJ has had successful coaching stints at Aurora Central HS, Rangeview HS, Cherry Creek HS, and Regis Jesuit HS. TJ has been an active member of the Colorado High School Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association and has been a frequent presenter at the Colorado High School Coaches Association annual Track clinic.
